When he announced the birth of Jesus, the angel said, “I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people.” (Luke 2:10)
The birth of Jesus is not a fairy tale. It is news about something that happened on a real day in a real town in the Middle East, 2000 years ago. And, unlike so much of the news on the television, it is “good news of great joy.”
Although rooted in historical events, the news about Jesus is relevant today because it is “for all people.” Whoever you are, whatever you have done, whatever has happened to you, Jesus is good news for you.
