“Share with God’s people who are in need. Practise hospitality.” Romans 12:13
When we think “hospitality” we tend to think “inviting some friends over for a meal.” But even pagans invite their friends over for a meal. God’s vision for His people is much more radical. It is about inviting strangers – people who are strange to us and different from us – into our homes. So look around. Who is strange to you? Who is different from you? Get them over. And when you sit together around your kitchen table you will be enjoying a taste of the Kingdom of God – in which all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds feast together because of Jesus.
Here’s a great sermon on hospitality from Tim Keller.
