Thursdays 10:00-11:30am       Northcote Scout Hall, Great Brockeridge BS9 3TY

Winter term: September 16th to December 17th   (no meeting October 29th - half term)

Prayer Triplets and informal Bible Study

One of the reasons for having small groups on Sundays is so that we have time during the week to nurture real friendships with one another.  We want everyone to know the joy and encouragment that comes from meeting regularly with Christian friends to pray and study the Bible together.

Community Action

Serving the local community begins as each of us follows Christ by loving our neighbour in practical ways.  But there are local needs that we can help to meet by pulling together as a church.  So here are four projects with which Emmanuel members are involved.

The Besom - helping to clean and decorate for people who have recently been provided with housing

Bristol Nights - lending a listening ear to late-night clubbers on a Friday night in the centre of town

Easton Jubilee Trust - helping the Somali community to feel at home in Bristol by helping them with English, schoolwork and general paperwork.

The Greenway GP befriending scheme - offering friendship to the elderly

Bristol Film Club

Meets on the first Friday of every month to watch and discuss a movie on the big screen. For more details look up "Bristol Film Club" on facebook.

Reading Groups

Emmanuel members regularly get together to read a book and discuss its implications.  Listen out for news of the next one.

Fun

As a church family we want to share our lives with one another and enjoy plenty of fun together - and make sure we include our friends who are not part of Emmanuel in what we are doing.  Someone will take the initiative to organise a hike, a picnic, a cycle ride, a games evening, a concert or a camping trip to which everyone is invited to come along and bring their friends.  Listen out for details of the next one - or why not be the person who makes the next one happen?
